Well August is here, just do not know where
the year is going... Guess it will soon be summer.
Saturday August 15th Dance
Rhythms will be
running a Summer Ball complete with a top dance Ballroom demonstration. Click
here to be kept up to date about the ball.
Had the shock of
my life last Sunday, I had heard about a new dance venue
at the Forum Leisure Centre in Wythenshawe, so I went along to
try it out as one does!!! and up popped everyone around - some
75 couples - to dance the "Wattle Bossonova".
The Rocket what I cried, No they all shouted back the "Wattle"
as in the wall!!! It transpires that I had stumbled upon a regular
Saturday dance run by the outstanding Ian and Sue Webster who had
three weeks earlier at the Floral Hall in Southport, been victorious
in the "Wattle Bossanova" winning the IDTA
SEQUENCE DAY – INVENTIVE DANCE COMPETITION. Another new
sequence dance invented by the "Websters" was the "Rumba
Mimosa".

Jackie
Conway saw her Willenhall promotion
stage the Shropshire championships and what a fabulous competition
it was culminating in the final of the Shropshire Amateur Open
Ballroom Championship which saw a standing ovation for the Quickstep
of the eventual winners Richard Still and Morgan Hemphill pictured
right taken by Norman Large. More photos can viewed at dance
photos online.
Richard & Morgan made it a double success as their "road show"
continued in Liverpool at Margaret Redmond's promotion as they wrapped
up the Merseyside Amateur Champ ship title with a faultless display gaining
1st place from all judges for the second time in two weeks...
