Strictly Come Dancing

It’s strictly one show from now on. BBC1 intends to dominate Saturday nights by screening an extended version of Strictly Come Dancing.

Bosses have abandoned the format of the past two years, in which a pre-recorded results show, complete with dance-off, was screened on Sundays after Saturday’s main show.

Instead, for the first time in Strictly’s six-year history, the dancers will compete and then, after public voting and a dance-off, one act will foxtrot off.

Former Strictly winner Karen Hardy is the latest to be axed acording to the Daily Mail. The 39-year-old dancer -the oldest on the show - has been given the boot from the dancefloor to make way for younger professionals in their 20s.

Karen Hardy is not the only dancer to be replaced. Reigning champion Camilla Dallerup, 35, and Miss Hardy will be replaced by Lithuanian Katya Virshilas, 25, and Australian Natalie Lowe, 28.

Hayley Holt who is only 28!!! and partnered Olympic swimmer Mark Foster, is the latest dancer to be axed from the hit show - but only discovered she had been sacked via email according to a Daily Mail Reporter.

THE Strictly Come Dancing professional dancers are celebrating after BBC bosses agreed NOT to slash their pay.

The Sun reporter Colin Robertson revealed on Aug 5th the 13-strong gang will in fact get a modest INCREASE - despite the Beeb's bid to cut talent costs.

The dancers the Sun reports will once again receive £30,000 for the new series, which starts next month.

But they will get an additional £4,200 each for working two extra shows. Instead of last year's 14 episodes they will star in 16, with two taking place on a Friday at the start of the run.

It is also reported that Bruce Forsyth, 81, has had his pay cut from £660,000 to £500,000 for the new run - and the judges have also been hit.

The line-up of contestants is rumoured to include Former 'Footballers' Wives' star Zoe Lucker, The report also suggests that 'EastEnders' stars Kara Tointon and Natalie Cassidy and 'Coronation Street' star Reece Dinsdale according to the Mirror

Dancing with the Stars
"Dancing with the Stars" host Tom Bergeron is scheduled to announce on Monday the names of the contestants for Season 9 on "Good Morning America," ABC.
